Lofi Radio Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
In short: you can listen without an account. If you join the chat, we keep your account, your username and the messages you send. Messages are deleted every night. We use service providers to run the app, moderate the chat, sell premium and show ads, and we never sell your data.
1. Who is responsible
Lofi Radio is made by Peak Pocket Studios, the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact: contact@peakpocketstudios.com.
2. What we collect and why
| Data | When | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Account identifier from Google or Apple, and the email address they share | When you sign in to the chat | Your chat account; contacting you about it | Contract |
| Username, name color, the date you joined, the date you accepted the chat rules, previous usernames | When you choose or change a username | Showing who wrote each message; preventing impersonation | Contract; legitimate interest |
| Chat messages | When you write in the chat | Publishing them to other listeners | Contract |
| Reports, blocks, warnings, mutes and bans, including the reported or blocked message | When you or a moderator use them | Keeping the chat safe | Legitimate interest; legal obligation |
| Purchases and subscription status | When you buy premium or restore a purchase | Unlocking premium and the chat badge | Contract |
| App usage statistics and crash reports, with a device identifier | While you use the app | Understanding usage and fixing errors | Legitimate interest |
| Advertising identifier and ad interactions | When the free version shows ads | Showing ads; personalized only if you consent | Consent (personalized ads); legitimate interest (non-personalized ads) |
| IP address and stream requests | While the radio plays | Delivering the audio stream; counting listeners | Contract; legitimate interest |
Your settings, such as the accent color and favorites, are stored only on your device.
3. Chat moderation
Before a message is published, it is checked automatically. Its text is sent to Google Cloud's text moderation service, which classifies it. Messages that break the rules are not published; borderline ones are shown hidden. Moderators can delete messages and warn, mute or ban users. Moderation records are kept for up to 12 months and are visible only to moderators.
4. Who processes your data
We use these providers, which process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics): accounts, chat and app statistics.
- Google Cloud Natural Language: automatic moderation of chat messages.
- Apple and Google: Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in and in-app purchases.
- RevenueCat: subscription and purchase status.
- Google AdMob: ads in the free version, with Google's consent form where required.
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, under the European Commission's adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your data.
5. How long we keep it
- Chat messages: until the nightly cleanup, at most one day.
- Account, username and username history: while your account exists.
- Moderation records: up to 12 months, or longer if a legal claim requires it.
- If your account was warned, muted or banned and you delete it: a pseudonymous identifier (a keyed hash of your Google or Apple account ID, never the ID itself) and the sanction, only while the sanction applies (warnings 90 days, mutes until they end, bans while in force), so that it cannot be avoided by creating the account again.
- Statistics and crash reports: according to the Firebase retention settings, at most 14 months.
- Purchase records: as long as the stores and tax law require.
Usernames you leave stay reserved for you, so nobody else can take them; they are released when you delete your account.
6. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to contact@peakpocketstudios.com. You can delete your account as described on the delete your account page. You can change your ad consent in the app's settings. You can also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
7. Children
The chat is for people aged 14 or over. If you believe a child has joined it, contact us and we will delete the account.
8. Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app before the change applies.
